BV TECH allo short master “Cybersecurity for Industrial Control Systems” (CICS) di PoliBA

In the context of the dissemination activities of the results of the research project envisaged by the Program Contract “Cybersecurity and SOC Product Suite”, last 27 September 2025, colleagues from the CyberLab of Grottaglie and Rutigliano contributed to the short master “Cybersecurity for Industrial Control Systems” (CICS) organized by the Polytechnic of Bari, presenting the module “The experience of BV TECH: simulation of cyber attacks in an OT scenario in the BV TECH” Cyber Range.

Thanks to this opportunity, the participants had the opportunity to analyze the main vulnerabilities of the control systems used in the industrial environment (ICS) and the security issues arising from the interconnection of production systems with IT management systems, which in turn are often accessible through the Internet.

As part of the module, a practical exercise session was also provided, in which students were able to try their hand, in guided mode, in the simulation activities of a cyber attack in a complex OT scenario, modeled within the Cyber Range BV TECH, with the possibility of evaluating its effects on the simulated physical system.

The training section and the practical exercise were positively evaluated by the participants, both present and remotely connected.
